TELL YOUR METRO STORY AT FIVE LIBRARIES
Metro “Tell Your Story” contest winners get a year of free rides
CINCINNATI –There’s no place with more stories than the library… now you can tell your Metro story at area libraries this summer.
In June and July, Metro will hold special “story times” at five branches of The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Metro representatives will briefly tell Metro’s story and then listen to the community’s Metro stories. There will be refreshments, a storytime reading for little ones, and a new articulated “accordion” bus available outside for tours.
The “story time” events are part of Metro’s “Tell Your Story” campaign, asking the community to share their Metro stories. One video and one written entry will win free rides for a year. For contest details, please visit www.go-metro.com.
Join Metro at the following Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County branches for special “Tell Your Story” story time events:
- North Central Branch, 11109 Hamilton Ave., June 14th from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Westwood Branch, 3345 Epworth Ave. June 21st from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
- Anderson Branch, 7450 State Rd. June 28th from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Groesbeck Branch, 2994 W. Galbraith Rd. July 12th from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
- Bond Hill Branch, 1740 Langdon Farm Rd. at Jordan Crossing July 19th from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.
The goal of Metro’s Tell Your Story campaign is to engage the community in a dialogue on the benefits of transit that focuses on four themes:
- Economy and jobs
- Environment
- Energy independence
- Quality of life
Metro is looking for stories that relate to one of those four key areas. Stories can be submitted several ways:
- Videos shot by Metro staff at community events this summer, beginning with Taste of Cincinnati
- Videos submitted on Metro’s website
- Written entries submitted on Metro’s website, via e-mail or on written forms found at www.go-metro.com
Entries will be accepted May 27 - July 31, 2010. The top four video and the top four written entries each will receive a one-month Metro bus pass.
The community will choose the two grand prize winners by voting for their favorite video and favorite written story on www.go-metro.com from Aug. 3 - 31, 2010.
On Sept. 1, 2010, Metro will announce the two grand prize winners who each will receive a year of free rides on Metro.
Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing more than 19 million rides per year. Metro supports the economy, protects the environment, encourages energy independence, and improves the quality of life in Greater Cincinnati.
