KARL B. SCHULTZ JOINS SORTA BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Portrait of Karl SchultzCINCINNATI –Karl B. Schultz was named to the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority’s board of trustees on April 20. Schultz is SORTA’s new Clermont County representative.

Schultz is a member of the Miami Township Board of Trustees. He joined the Miami Township Rural Zoning Commission in 1983, and served as chairman from 1985 through 1998, a period of growth for Miami Township. He has been a member of the Clermont County Planning Commission since 2004 and was chairman in 2008.

Schultz served as the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Regional Planning Authority (OKI) representative for the county planning commission 2006 through 2008. He currently serves on the OKI board of directors as the Clermont County Township Association (CCTA) representative.

“Karl will be a strong addition to SORTA’s board of trustees. As our Clermont County representative, he’ll help us to better understand and meet the needs of that region,” said Melody Sawyer Richardson, SORTA board chair.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Schultz retired from Cincinnati Milacron in 2006, after 42 years of service. He served in the Air Force Reserve from 1965 until he retired as a Colonel in 2004.

Schultz, his wife, two adult children, and three grandchildren reside in Miami Township.

Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing more than 19 million rides per year. Metro supports the economy, protects the environment, encourages energy independence, and improves the quality of life in Greater Cincinnati.
