Safety is Metro's #1 priority. From providing safety training to operators and mechanics to cameras on buses and at Government Square, we a re committed to making sure every trip you take on Metro is as safe as possible.
On Tuesday, June 9, Metro's Safety Committee was on Fountain Square with WKRC weekend anchor, Bob Herzog, to tape a special segment of Bob's regular Dance Party To Go feature. Members danced with Bob, spelling out 'SAFETY!' as they stepped off one of Metro's new hybrid buses.
Safety Committee members weren't just dancing about safety, however. After shooting the segment, they boarded random buses, talking with passengers about safe bus riding and passed out soda can cozies with reminders to ride safe.
WKRC aired a brief clip of the dance the morning of Friday, June 12, 2009. This is a longer version produced by Metro:
